Para un due\u00f1o-operador honesto, esto puede parecer un tr\u00e1mite m\u00e1s, pero para el gobierno federal, es una herramienta crucial de seguridad nacional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is my trucking company required to file the BOI?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The short answer is: <strong>Almost certainly, YES.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The law applies to all \"reporting entities,\" which includes any corporation, LLC, or similar entity created by filing a document with a Secretary of State or similar authority in the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the context of trucking:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are an Owner-Operator who registered your truck under an <strong>LLC<\/strong> to protect your personal assets, you must file the BOI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have a small fleet structured as an <strong>S-Corp<\/strong> or <strong>C-Corp<\/strong>, you must file the BOI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The only exceptions are for very large companies (more than 20 employees and $5 million in revenue) or highly regulated entities that already report this information (such as banks). The vast majority of trucking companies do not fall into these exceptions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deadlines: When must I file my beneficial owner information?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Deadlines are critical and depend on when your company was created. Ignoring these deadlines can result in civil fines of up to <strong>$500 for each day<\/strong> the violation continues, in addition to potential criminal penalties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Existing companies (created BEFORE January 1, 2024):<\/strong> You have until <strong>January 1, 2025<\/strong> , to file your initial BOI report. You have time, but do not leave it until the last minute.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New companies (created DURING 2024):<\/strong> If you registered your LLC or Corporation at any time in 2024, you have <strong>90 calendar days<\/strong> from the date of creation to file the report.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Companies created in 2025 or later:<\/strong> The deadline is reduced to <strong>30 calendar days.<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a one-time filing, not annual, <strong>UNLESS<\/strong> there are changes in the company information or the beneficial owners (such as a change of address or a new partner). If this happens, you have only 30 days to update the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not risk the future of your trucking company due to a bureaucratic oversight.
